If we all try to walk rather than drive a car just once each day, we’d have a great change for the better. There are times when walking is just not pragmatic, but, when it is, do it! Any brief trips by car can probably be replaced by walking without any real hassle. You’ll not simply reduce emissions emitted into the atmosphere but you will also save money on petrol and also get some workout out of it.
3. When you are brushing your teeth, shut the tap
Since water is just a turn of the tap away, we use it without thinking, and waste a lot as we do so. Keeping the faucet turned on while you brush your teeth wastes water. It’s a huge amount of water that is running out of the tap in the two minutes of recommended brushing time. Instead put some water for rinsing your mouth in a glass ahead of time, so you aren’t wasting water.
4. Do short showers rather than long baths
Taking a shower utilizes less electricity and water than taking a bath, so go for taking a shower. But then again, if you shower for more than 20 minutes, ! A brief shower is helpful; if it becomes a long one, you won’t be saving any water!
5. Be mindful of lights switched on when they don’t have to be on
Empty rooms don’t normally have to be illuminated. If no one is in it, a room may as well have no lights on. You can save money, save energy and benefit the planet this way. When there’s sunlight outside, avoid using inside lights since the sunlight will provide lots of light to your house.
